A Tale of Love
The freelance writer, immigrant from Vietnam Kieu (Mai Huynh) also works as a model. The photographer Alikan (Dominik Overstreet) captures Kieu sheathed by transparent veils. Voyeurism runs through the history of love narratives and voyeurism is here one of the threads that structures the ‘narrative’ of the film. The film eloquently evokes an understanding of the allusive and powerful connections between love, sensuality, voyeurism, identity as well as feminist and postcolonial perspective of watching the movie.
