When the Moon Waxes Red. Trinh T. Minh-ha Retrospective
The filmmaking of Trinh T. Minh-ha, a Vietnamese-born, US-based filmmaker, writer, composer, theorist, and professor of Gender & Women Studies and Rhetoric at UC Berkeley, has been honoured with more than 64 retrospectives worldwide. Five of her films dealing with the topic of identity, cultural belonging, and feminist and post-colonial theory are presented as part of the 20th Millennium Docs Against Gravity. The retrospective offers an opportunity to reflect, among other things, on the limits of documentary filmmaking.
