The premiere of two films that deal with the expression of identity and the threat it faces. Dawid Nickel’s "Filipka" follows the gender-fluid protagonist who prepares for her first show and decides to confront her conservative parents. In "Dear Madam" by Liliana Zeic, aggressive Ordo Iuris newsletters claiming to present an objective picture of Polish reality permeate the living space. What conditions and practices can help non-heteronormative people find a safe space in modern-day Poland? What kind of spaces could cities, smaller towns or even nature be in this context?
Guests:
Dawid Nickel – he has collaborated with Małgorzata Szumowska (“Body” and ”Mug”) and Łukasz Ronduda (“All Our Fears”). His first film, “Love Tasting”, won the 2020 Gdynia Polish Film Festival in the Microbudget Film Competition.
Filipka Rutkowska – performer, actor and art historian, born in 1991. Her works examine society from the perspective of sexual fluidity. Long associated with the Foksal Gallery Foundation in Warsaw, she currently performs in “Orlando. Biographies” at the Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw.
dr Liliana Zeic (formerly Piskorska) – visual artist, Doctor of Fine Arts and queer feminist born in 1988. Her artwork analyses social issues from the perspective of a radical sensibility, addressing the themes of queerness and non-heteronormativity.
