A documentary about Indian architect Balkrishna Vithaldas Doshi focuses on his collaborative projects in Ahmadabad, a city where modernist works sit alongside vernacular architecture. His designs were characterised by social responsibility and a fusion of international style with the local environment and climate. The post-screening lecture will expand on the context of the Western modernists from the 1950s and 1960s, showing the sources of inspiration for their designs.  Referring to local design traditions, we will try to spot the potential of "imperfections" (the theme of the 11th edition of the MIASTOmovie festival). Created as a result of non-professional construction, they can be an inspiration for contemporary architecture, taking into account the needs of the users.
