"Jane Campion: The Cinema Woman" director.
After studying Philosophy, Julie Bertuccelli was assistant director (with Otar Iosseliani, Rithy Panh, Krysztof Kieslowsky, Bertrand Tavernier, Emmanuel Finkiel…). Then she directed about fifteen documentaries for television before her first feature film " Depuis qu’Otar est parti… " (2002) that was crowned with the Grand Prix de la Semaine de la Critique in Cannes and the César for the best first film. "L’arbre" (2010) her second feature film shot in Australia with Charlotte Gainsbourg, was in the official selection at the Cannes Film Festival. His documentary “La cour de Babel” (2014) was selected for numerous festivals, nominated for the César and crowned Best Documentary of the Trophées francophones du cinéma. Then her documentary “Dernières nouvelles du cosmos” (2016) received, among other things, the FIFA Grand Prize in Montreal, was nominated for the Lumières de la Presse Internationale and the César. Her latest fiction feature film, "La dernière folie de Claire Darling" (2019) with Catherine Deneuve and Chiara Mastroianni, has been sold in around thirty countries. Her new documentary “Jane Campion, The Cinema Woman” is presented in the official selection Cannes Classic at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. She heads also the Filmmaking Department at La Fémis and chairs the Cinematheque du Documentaire that she initiated, after being elected President of the SCAM and co-president of the ARP.
