Gemma Dunleavy concert
Gemma Dunleavy is an Irish singer whose pop songs are deeply rooted in the reality of Dublin. She focuses on themes such as love, the working class, friendship or growing up in a violence-ridden world.
In 2021, Dunleavy released the EP “Up De Flats”. Taking the perspective of six characters, it paid homage to the local Dublin community and the inspiring people around whom the artist grew up. Since the release of “Up De Flats”, which was met with a very enthusiastic reception from the press and garnered nominations for top music awards, Gemma's career has taken off. Dunleavy has also released an EP with Mixpak Record Label (the label behind Popcaan, Palmistry and Dre Skul, among others), and recorded with Lost Horizons. She has played shows in Europe and North America and has been invited to play at the Other Voices festival and Boiler Room as part of Jameson Connects.
Gemma Dunleavy is the protagonist of the film “North Circular”, directed by Luke McManus. The film is a documentary musical that travels the length of Dublin’s North Circular Road, from the Phoenix Park to Dublin Port, exploring the history, music and streetscapes of a street that links some of the country’s most beloved and infamous places.
