DIMITRA KOUZI

An award winning documentary filmmaker and creative producer, journalist, communication strategist and audience developer. She studied communication and media at Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, Germany, and photography in Athens. For 20 years, she has worked as a journalist for magazines and the public television and radio in Greece (ERT) and Germany (ZDF, Deutsche Welle, Arte), in breaking news, arts and culture, as a correspondent for German media during the Greek financial crisis and as a C.E. at ERT digital. In 2015, she established her own production company (Kouzi Productions) in Athens and was selected for EURODOC. In 2016, she founded KinderDocs, international festival featuring documentary screenings, events and educational programs for children and young people in Greece (Benaki Museum, Athens), in collaboration with Idfa, Doxs Ruhr and Doxs!

Within her company she also runs audience development campaigns for European documentaries and as an audience producer she is a tutor at BDC-Discoveries, Doku Rough Cut Boutique and Sarajevo’s Doku Rough Cut Boutique pitching preparation workshop. Fluent in Greek, German, English, she lives and works in Athens and Berlin.
