Debate: Intimacy Coordination: The Polish Context

What is intimacy on set and how to manage it well? The presence of intimacy coordinators on film sets is becoming more common and continues to create buzz. What is their job and what does it change? How do casts and crews of Polish productions view it? We will talk about the evolution of intimacy on screen and give attention to the filmmakers bravely forging ahead with a change. We will also discuss how the preparation of intimate scenes affects actors and what we can learn from their professional coordination. The reality of Polish film sets will be brought into focus by:

Marta Łachacz – intimacy coordinator. Advocate for safety, respect for boundaries between actors and filmmakers, and support for productions regarding shooting intimate scenes.
Paulina Krajnik – casting director with ten years' experience. Co-founder and Board Member of the Polish Guild of Casting Directors. Member of the Casting Society of America.
Anna Szymańczyk – theatre, film and television actress. Graduate of the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. Permanently associated with the Dramatic Theatre in Warsaw.
Hubert Miłkowski – Polish actor, 5th-year student at the Acting Department of the Leon Schiller National Film School in Łódź. He has appeared in such productions as “Hiacynt” and “The Woods” (“W głębi lasu”).
