He studied photography and film directing. Photojournalist for Gazeta Wyborcza. Theatrical and film photographer. Member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers and the Polish Film Academy. A long-term lecturer at the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing. Co-creator of the Bydgoszcz Film Chronicle. Author of multiple individual photographic exhibitions. Director, screenwriter and cinematographer of over twenty documentary and feature films. Winner of several dozen awards, including many major awards at film festivals around the world. Winner of the main award at the most important world documentary film festival, IDFA in Amsterdam, and the Golden Frog at the Camerimage festival. He received a congratulatory letter from the President of the Republic of Poland for his artistic successes abroad.
