Screening of UNDER THE SKY OF DAMASCUS followed by a Q&A with directors Heba Khaled and Talal Derki
In Polish and English.
In Damascus, friends Eliana, Inana, Farah, Grace and Souhir begin work on a theatre show that will expose the misogyny, sexism, sexual abuse and everyday life of women in Syria. The project turns out to be as controversial as it is dangerous. Attacks on women are common in Syria but rarely reported. The voice of Syrian women often remains overlooked, which is why the creators of the show intend to use the anonymous statements of a large number of women to break numerous taboos that uphold social inequalities in the country.
