Screening of FANTASTYCZNY MATT PAREY followed by a Q&A with the director Bartosz Paduch
In Polish
The film serves as an attempt to capture the phenomenon of Maciej Parowski, the editor responsible for the emerging fame of several generations of Polish fantasy writers. He was behind the successes of such titles as: "The Witcher'' by Andrzej Sapkowski and the adaptation for Netflix or the Oscar® nominated "The Cathedral" by Tomasz Bagiński, based on a story by Jacek Dukaj. We observe Parowski's life against the backdrop of the turbulent history of Poland: from the struggle with the communist regime, through the period of transformation, to the birth of the Internet and the twilight of the printed word. The story of Maciej will be told by relatives, colleagues, and finally science fiction experts. The titular Matt Parey, seemingly withdrawn from the creators he created, exerted a huge influence on the Polish fantasy market for the next decades.
