An uncompromising director looking for extremes in cinema? A storyteller weaving tales of people in exceptional situations, on the verge of madness? An explorer of the relationship between humans and nature? Or maybe he’s a shaman trying to reach the source of our fears?... These and other questions will be at the forefront of the discussion between prof. Małgorzata Jakubowska and moderator Joanna Cichocka-Gula.

Małgorzata Jakubowska – film expert, professor at the University of Lódź (Department of Film and Audiovisual Media). Philosophy remains at the centre of her interests – as a rebellious thought and a form of feeling. She publishes essays and books on the theory and philosophy of cinema, methods of film analysis and film narration: Teoria kina Gillesa Deleuze’a, Kraków 2003, Żeglowanie po filmie, Kraków 2006, Laboratorium czasu. Moderator:
Joanna Cichocka-Gula – documentary director focusing on art, editor responsible for the production of TV Theater performances. She was the head of the Redakcja Kulturalna and the TV Theatre. She completed internships at Arte and other French-language TV stations as well as BBC. From 2010 to 2019, she was the vice mayor of Sopot responsible for culture, education and welfare. Since November 2019, she has been the director of the Sopot cultural institution Goyki 3 Art Inkubator.
