Screen intimacy. Online meeting with Kaja Wesołek and Marta Zygadło (Intimacy Duo)
When an actress enters a film set, does her body automatically become the property of the (usually male) creators? How has nudity and sex been portrayed in movies, past and present? In "Body Parts” the history of emancipation is combined with the history of cinema, for decades showing pleasure and desire on the screen only through the male gaze. Standing at the crossroads, the industry must decide which way it moves forward - equality and authenticity or exclusion and idealisation.
The film will be the starting point for a conversation with Kaja Wesołek and Marta Zygadło, known as Intimacy Duo. The leading intimacy coordinators of the Polish film industry will talk about working with actors, how this cooperation looks like here in Poland and how the industry has changed in the face of new challenges.
