MAGDALENA BARBARUK

PhD working at the Department of Cultural Studies of the University of Wrocław. Her field of interest includes literature's causality, its impact on lifestyles and the spatial mapping. She conducts research in Spain and South America, mainly in Chile. She is the author of the books “Długi cień Don Kichota” and “Sensy błądzenia. La Mancha i jej peryferie”, as well as the documentary film “Błędne mapy”, where she experiments with the essay form and audiovisual means. She studies the activities of the so-called "School of Valparaíso", which combined architecture and poetry with a mission of decolonisation. Wrocław native, she grew up with a view of a cinema and in the cinema: her sandbox was "Warszawa" (now DCF). She treats the film screening as a space for insight, where the cognitive act becomes at the same time an ethical act.
