DCF's Film Madness cycle presents the strangest film premieres and iconic motion pictures in the history of cinema. Films that often escape the mainstream trends in style and subject matter and those that have entered the film canon. Those revolutionary and controversial or completely overlooked. For Friday night, we have chosen from the festival menu “Crows are white” – shot over five years on three continents, it is a bold portrait of the director who comes from a Muslim family and travels to a Buddhist monastery inhabited by a sect of monks, including an iconoclastic young outcast who prefers ice cream and Slayer to meditation. A road movie about the meanderings of globalisation, full of humour and detachment.
